Now Pogrom is a very strong word, and technically it's is not happening in Arizona.Â The Pogrom, in Russia at least, is what "Fiddler on the Roof" is about.Â I suppose in Arizona it would be "Mariachi on the Porch."Â And yes--in some parts of Phoenix--the neighborhoods where you find a concentration of immigrant families--the houses have porches, and mariachis.Â There are parts of my hometown where Friday and Saturday nights are alive with un montÃ³n de buena mÃºsica.

Estimates say that over 100 thousand Immigrants have left Arizona.Â Some were doubtless here Illegally.Â Many of those leaving Arizona are Legal resident aliens some are Naturalized Citizens.Â They Left because they are being harassed, and the writing is on the wall, it will only get worse.Â One Mr. Varela, a third generation US Citizen was gunned down in his front yard by a man ordering him to go home. His brother narrowly escaped the same fate.

Interesting that the immigrants who left Arizona DID NOT GO HOME.Â The ones who did leave Arizona Represent more than two thousand for each other state.Â That's how many 100 thousand is.Â So, for those of you in Montana cheering for the new Arizona Law, GET READY FOR SOME REALLY TAN CABALLEROS, Hombres.

I thought I was pretty smart. But that is a new thought. It seems that Arizona has its thumb planted firmly on its two faces. One pointed at Mexico. the Other at Maine.

True. Stating the obvious leaves little room for dispute. It's my opinion that the newspaper reports in those links are pretty much factual. And that information I passed on about departures and destinations was also factual. So, why the comment that Gather is mostly opinion, on an article that just happens to be mostly factual?

Sadly, people are are believing that every hispanic they see is an illegal. I have heard that even American citizens are leaving Arizona because they are afraid of what will be done to them. Did you see the photo of the van who's owner wants to murder all illegals?

There will always be those who act in the extreme, sad to say, but happily their numbers are not very large.
The extreme left would have you believe that most Republicans/conservatives think like that small minority, which of course just their propaganda.

Locally, a man wrote a highly irate letter to the letter because he drove by a welfare office, saw Hispanics outside, and assumed they were all illegals milking the system. Guess it never occured to him that they could have been citizens. Another man complained that Hispanics have never served in the military but they always have and currently are serving. I hear a daily bombardment of complaints about illegals and have to wonder why they are being demonized for something that is not even a felony. It somewhat reminds me of how the Jews were blamed for everything in Russia and Nazi Germany.

Yes, a friend, just the other day, told me that unemployment should never be extended because those without jobs are too lazy to work or think that they are too good to work a $7 an hour job. My friend is positive that there are plenty of jobs out there for everyone. I couldn't convince him otherwise so I simply wished him well and that he not lose his job.

Susan, the US Army and Marines RECRUIT IN MEXICO. Mexican men and women willing to join the US armed forces are FAST TRACKED to citizenship. Just a few weeks ago a young Mexican man was Naturalized POSTHUMOUSLY.

You mentioned Legal Residents leaving because of what MIGHT be done to them. AT LEAST 10 incidents of police detaining US citizens IN JAIL, have occurred in the weeks leading up to the signing of SB 1070, the weeks after before it took effect and TO THIS DAY.

Several Weeks ago a Mr. Varela, Third Generation US citizen of MEXICAN heritage was shot dead in the front yard of his home by a neighbor demanding that Varela "GO BACK TO MEXICO REAL FAST."

These people are not leaving the state because of what MIGHT happen but because of what IS HAPPENING.

It was 19th century SHOCK AND AWE that did it. We took, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, Arizona And California, and accepted as sort of an afterthought, Texas, and then bought the Gadsden Purchase sort of as a consolation to Mexico that had surrendered about half its territory to the Ewe Ess Eh. Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacremento, Fresno, Tucson, Mesa, Guadalupe, Santa Fe, COLORADO, are all Spanish names. WE DIDN'T JUST TAKE THE LAND. We kept the names too.

As you said, this is mostly opinion and all of us are entitled to our own. I never said that I thought most Republicans were hateful. Many of my family members are Republican. I myself have voted for Republicans and will do so again. I am well aware that it is a vocal minority stirring up hatred and I'm not even convinced that they are truely Republicans. However, I also am seeing that people die because of those who incite them. Until today, I had not heard of the man in Arizona being murdered but I have heard of people in California and Kansas being killed because of the hate speech that is so prevalent. All of them were citizens of America at the time of their deaths, not a one was an immigrant. I'm sure that there are also many immigrants murdered here. The camps I spoke of are solely for hispanics who are rounded up in the immigration sweeps. They are not jails, just holding facilities. What would you call them? Perhaps what we called the WWII camps where we held the Americans of Japanese ancestry?

Good one, Karl! I should make sure any and all future prospective dates are NOT conservative, hateful and ignorant of how hard the lower class works to get their money! As for those 100,000 who left Arizona already, I am thinking that is what Arizona wanted.
