The husband of the late Brittany Murphy, Simon Monjack passed away due to pneumonia and severe anemia, according to The Los Angeles Coroner’s officials said on Wednesday. This was revealed to Radar Online and then reported by Access Hollywood.
This is the same illness that Murphy died from back in December. Monjack who was 40, had a slightly enlarged heart and prescriptions medications were found in his system. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said that the levels didn’t contribute to his death.
On May 23 Monjack was found dead in the Hollywood Hills home he shared with his wife Brittany Murphy and her mother. A heart attack was believed to be the cause but was ruled out and confirmed that he died of natural causes.
Both Murphy and Monjack’s deaths are now being handled by county health officials because they both died of pneumonia.
Winter said in about two weeks, a full report will issued and will include a list of medications.
In the death of Murphy, it was determined that pneumonia, anemia and medications contributed to her death.
According to Winter, he believes that both deaths could have been prevented. He had this to say:
“In simple English, they didn’t take care of themselves. They didn’t seek medical advice from a doctor. Brittany could of survived if she had gone to a hospital and Simon I think could have done the same.â€
That is really sad that Winter is saying it could have been preventable. It’s too bad that they didn’t take better care of themselves because the possibility that could have been means they might still be here.
