Today on Reality TV Monday, we focus our attention on CBS 'Big Brother' where Andrew, a.k.a. Captain Kosher, was evicted, but not after leaving the BB House in utter chaos. We'll also take a peek at the latest happenings on "Mary Knows Best" and "Top Shot". But first, onward and upward for Captain Kosher!
Andrew's attempted to convince the other Big Brother house guests that he was gunning for Rachel and Brendon went nowhere. Pitted against Kathy for eviction by Matt, a member of the still secret 'Brigade', Andrew was desperate. His ploy to call out the power-couple when Brendon declined using the Power of Veto to save him backfired. So Andrew took one last swipe during Thursday's live eviction show.
Exposing the other power-couple, Hayden and Kristen, Andrew stirred up a hornets nest of chaos. It did him no good as the house guests voted unanimously, 8 - 0, to evict him over Kathy, Matt's true target. While the HGs went off one by one to vote, Andrew kept up the trouble making. Kristen and Hayden were both put on the spot by him.
During the HoH competition, Kristen tried her best to get Rachel sidelined. But Rachel wound up winning, beating Hayden during the last round. What happened next was a near cat-fight between Rachel and Kristen as they accused each other of lying and other nastiness.
Tempers continued after the competition as they gang moved indoors. Rachel all but declared that as HoH, she would be putting Hayden and Kristen on the chopping block. Brendon tried to calm Rachel down. Hayden also tried to distant himself from Kristen by talking with Rachel. Later, after Kristen passed on seeing how Big Brother outfitted Rachel's HoH Room, Rachel went downstairs and offered Kristen an apology. But Kristen rejected it!
With the battle lines clearly drawn, the other HGs breathed a sigh of relief. Even Britney got in on the act chumming up to Rachel, sharing a bubble bath and dishing about Kristen. Kathy became a potential target when she showed Kristen some compassion. Rachel accused Kathy of taking sides against her. Later, Kathy tried to smooth things out with Rachel.
The Luxury Competition only brought a momentary pause in the brewing chaos. The HGs competed in teams of three for a chance of having a movie night and see the new comedy, 'The Other Guys', starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Brendon, Enzo and Hayden won by a narrow margin of three seconds.
Kristen finally did talk with Rachel in a civil fashion, but it got her no where. On Sunday night's show, Rachel did fulfill her promise and did put Hayden and Kristen up for eviction. Hayden's fellow Brigade members are hoping that if they can evict Kristen, it will get Hayden more focused on helping their alliance to win. Kristen vows to stay in the house, but unless she wins veto, it will not happen.
On the History Channel's 'Top Shot', the Red Team is down to three members and Blue to six. Their latest challenge involved throwing a modified Bowie knife. None of the marksmen had any experience and the results showed it. But Blue Team managed to win thanks to JJ. Only Kelly did well for the Red Team. Later at the Lodge, Tara received a call from her brother that their father was critically ill and could die any day. After phoning her dad, Tara dropped out so she could rush home and be with him.
Peter and Kelly agreed to put Denny up for nomination. Kelly dreaded the prospects of once again having to compete in in the Elimination Challenge, But Denny spared him and selected Peter to go against. This was the first time either had faced elimination.
For the EC, both competed breaking glass tiles with a modern slingshot. The event was timed to 60 seconds, during which Peter took out seven and Denny only five. So Denny was eliminated, finally! Only two episodes remain with next week being a marathon individual shootout. Four players will be eliminated next week!
Finally, on 'Mary Knows Best', Mary and Jackie take a road trip to celebrate Jackie quitting her job as a manager of an Applebee's restaurant. First stop is a casino, where Jackie hits triple-7s on a slot machine for a cool thousand dollar jackpot! Mary then talks her into going to Salem, Massachusetts, because Mary thinks that she and Jackie were witches there in a past life and were hung to death.
Meanwhile, Mary's son Chris completes a play he is writing about how his first marriage ended in divorce, called 'Five Days Into Madness'. With the help of his manager, he rents a theater on Long Island for a casting call. But the local actors all suck and Chris decides to put the play on hold for the time being.
Back in Salem, it's one freaky thing after another as Mary finds the tree where she thinks she had been hung from. She also finds the spot where Jackie's past self was hung. Then both graves of the former selves! Mary also gets read by a local psychic who is amazingly accurate! Returning home, Mary offers motherly advice to Chris to pursue his talents.
