MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A body found Wednesday in a wooded area in southeast Memphis is former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, CBSSports.com has confirmed.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
A source told CBSSports.com that family members and friends are starting to show up at the crime scene. Police have still not confirmed that it's Wright, but a source told CBSSports.com that "it's a 6-foot-11 African-American with a gunshot wound. It's Lorenzen."
Wright was last seen July 19.
It remains unclear if this was a suicide or murder.
Wright played in college at the University of Memphis, then in the NBA for five teams, including the Grizzlies.
