Many highlights on the album including my favorite song, Dance Yourself Clean, which is one of the anthems of the summer of 2010!
that said at this moment, I am going to have to go with Janelle Monáe, mainly because at first glance she doesn't make the kind of music that I like ---- the warmed over Disco that's passed off as R&B these day.
I also am liking: The Monitor" by Titus Andronicus and "Street Songs of Love" by Alejandro Escovedo. I just got my copy of"Butcher Holler: A Tribute To Loretta Lynn" by Eilen Jewell yesterday and haven't gotten a chance to play it in full yet.
let me throw out there my biggest disappointment of the year so far, it has to be the first record from Imperial State Electric featuring Nike Anderson of the Hellacopters.
"Relayted" by Gayngs has been a favorite on my iTunes for quite some time now as well. Same goes for Phantogram's "Eyelid Movies." I've had "Treats" by Sleigh Bells on a heavy rotation since June. And every time I listen to Yeasayer's "Odd Blood," I find a new track that sucks me into the album even further.
