Since our evolution,
Long before written time,
Man has searched for the meaning of Life.
A never-ending quest.
We created gods, images, theories.
"Religions", if you will, in a narrower concept.
Many claiming to have
The only "True" answer.
Like all other animal species,
We are born, we live, we die.
We have become the dominant species.
Nearly seven billion of us.
I beieve in life after death
Only in that we may live on in memory.
That we may have influenced those left behind,
For good or for bad.
The more we learn about
Our planet, our galaxy, our universe,
The more wonder & questions it raises
As to why we are here.
In spite of our "Intelligence",
I believe that we are millenia away
From beginning to understand the meaning of life, as we percieve it.
I don't have the answer; I don't think that anyone does.
I love life, in all of it's beauty, pain, sorrow, love, joy, hope.
In the words of Dylan Thomas to his father, I will not
"go genrtle into that good life", I will "rage, rage, against the dying of the light."
In other words, you're stuck with me for awhile, gang.
