For several years, I've been doing home typing for an online company, Hausernet.com.....approximately six years. Generally, they've been paying pretty decently.....like every three or four months......this is where a person codes mail on the computer and gets paid for each piece of mail entered correctly.
Anyhow, this past year, I only got two checks......yep, two checks ALL year long......and, so far this year, I've not gotten one single pay check, but yet I've continued to do the mail. I guess one of the main reasons I've stuck it out is that I get several free magazine subscriptions as one of the "perks"--to magazines like "People," "Time," "Entertainment Weekly," "Travel & Leisure," "Food & Wine," etc.......I really enjoy them.
A few days ago I finally got disgusted and sat down and sent them an inquiry (on the web site), expressing my dissatisfaction and concern......wondering when I could expect to get any checks.
Surprisingly, I did get a reply......and faster than I thought for. I guess that they've lost one of their biggest accounts, which has put them in a bind...........as a result, they've been trying to deal with this and, they have been laying off people within their own office.
I know times are tough, the economy stinks, and places are closing down.......but, it sure would be nice to at least see a paycheck or two, especially when one continues to do the mail for the company.
Thought I would post this for those of you who code mail for Hausernet.com.....have any of you gotten a check lately?
