In 2011, a new Planet of the Apes comes to the big screen, called Rise of the Apes. With the Harry Potter series behind Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, the actor is confirmed to be taking a role in Rise of the Apes. The storyline for the film, according toIMDBpro, is genetic experiments that attempt to advance the intelligence of apes causes a war in modern day San Fransisco. Felton will be playing the son of the man that owns the lab where the experiments take place.
Felton is a talented actor, and while I don't know how he will be used for this movie, I have every confidence he will play the role well. He does have another role coming up in a horror thriller called The Apparition, as well as another action, horror thriller called Evac. So this bad boy is not putting his acting days behind him just yet.
As far as the rest of the cast for Rise of the apes, James Franco who played Spiderman's Harry Osborne is set to play a role. Also Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings movies, will be taking the helm of playing Ceasar. John Lithgow will also play a role in the film as well.
