Well, they found a new way to spam us. BY sending a spam within a friend request.
...OK, so spammers now cant get us that way.
...I had to get "creative" to report this spam. And since this is NOT covered under by the FAQ section, I contacted Gather @ Member Support Form
Well, that was the ticket. It get er done! Finish, and complete.
Myspace would say either "Read the FAQ;" or "read the TOS."
Once, while I was still on Myspace, a teenage girl of 14 had naked pics of herself posted, along with her address and phone number.
...It took me almost a week to get someone who was NOT brain dead to realize that they had a problem and that it was NOT with what I was posting.
....A stinking week to get them to remove what basically would be considered "kiddie porn" from their web site.
...A few of the replies was insulting. And since I included the exact web page id with each e-mail complaint, there was no reason for it to have taken THAT long.
...But that is NOT the case with Gather.
...Like the relief of Maury saying you are NOT the father; the reply from Gather; TREATED ME WITH RESPECT AND THEY DID LISTEN THE FIRST TIME.
...Considering what is going on within the coporate world, with Toyota, and the BP oil spill; they are reacting to some really bad stuff happenng because they have to.
...Gather has ALWAYS been polite, and when needed, asked "clarifying question's."
..Admittedly, I wished that they would pay more for comments, but with the way they reply to questions or complaints, is why I am still here.
...Also, it is nice to hear what was done concerning the problem.

This is the second time I have seen this format. We need a report to gather button in the approve a friend request area. please ban this person.
Here is the message with the friend request:

The account was removed from Gather. Thank you for your suggestion about adding a "report as spam" button in the friend request area. I will bring this up with our development team. Thanks again for reporting the spam and your suggestion.

This is one of the MANY reasons I decided Myspace was NOT for me.

Me too. I just received a spam for the first time... from My name is Joy...
...I had considered leaving Gather, because of time restraints, and other sites. But I chose to close my "membership" on 2 other sites because of the respect that the Gather staff has treated me with.
...OMG!! Did I just write a Gather ad?? Oh NO!!! That makes me a Gather fanatic.
It was first time I got one of those, usually the spam is Gather email.

Gather often responds very quickly to spam, scam and other solicitous messages, comments and pings. I'm glad that you took action, as sometimes members don't.
