What's with Gerard Butler's mullet? Are they making a new splash on the fashion scene? Thankfully, the answer to that question is an unequivocal "No!" and there's a reason for Butler's less than flattering do.
Gerard B
utler is sporting a mullet for his role in his upcoming movie "Machine Gun Preacher." Filmed in a Detroit trailer park, rumor has it the mullet is actually a wig.
Lots of stars previously sported mullets in the past; most of whom did so in the less-than-fashion-sensible 1980s. Just check out most of the bands of that era and you'll see various forms of the mullet; probably the very worst of which is the curly permed mullet. Thank you, Gerard Butler, for not going to that extreme!
Billy Ray Cyrus wore a mullet during his days of "Achy-Breaky Heart" fame. I wonder what daughter Miley Cyrus thinks when those photos surface today!
Gerard Butler stars as Sam Childers in "Machine Gun Preacher." The movie details the true story of Childers, a former gang biker and drug dealer from Pennsylvania who turned his life around after joining the Assembly of God church and later visited Sudan in the capacity of a missionary. While in Africa he works to free children from lives as soldiers and sex slaves. Sam Childers is actually referred to as the Machine Gun Preacher in real life. And yes, he wears a mullet.
We'll take the mullet, Gerard, since you're portraying an upstanding preacher doing God's work in one of the world's most dangerous regions. But please don't get any ideas of making it a permanent feature. And in the meantime, we'll just go on convincing ourselves it's really just a wig.

The ladies would jump on the latest 'do, everything from Dorothy Hamil bob/angle cuts to Farrah Fawcett whips to white women with cornrows...
If we have to put up with all that the least you could do is accept a single ugly style from men!
Re Gerard....granted mullets are horrid, but you have to admit, on him its easy to overlook!
