A Mafia Clan raid resulted in 320 people (persummed to be mobsters) being arrested on Tuesday. Italian police conducted the Mafia Clan raid which was among their more extensive and wider raids and besides the arrests, property was also taken.
According to cbsnews.com, the mafia clan which goes by the name 'ndrangheta'Â saw their "...top boss, Domenico Oppedisano, picked up earlier in the day..." The mafia clan raids occurred early in the morning and involved around 3,000 Italian police. They are believed to have been a major hit to the organized crime in Italy.
The 'ndrangheta' is also known as the Calabrian mafia and the clan raids involved wire taping for a better understanding into the crime organization. I find this to be amazing news that such a vast criminal organization could be surprised with such widespread raids. Aren't the mafia suppose to have inside guys telling them what the cops are up too? Maybe I just watch too many movies.
