Martin Lawrence Marries Longtime Girlfriend Shamicka Gibbs

Martin Lawrence and longtime girlfriend Shamicka Gibbs were married Saturday in their Beverly Hills home, according to People Magazine.

Martin Lawrence, 45, and Shamicka Gibbs, 35, exchanged Christian vows in the backyard of their home while 120 guests looked on. Those guests included actors Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington.  Their couple's daughters Lyana, 9, and Ameria, 7, and Lawrence's daughter Jasmine, 14, from a previous marriage were flower girls for the wedding ceremony.

An outdoor wedding reception underneath a tent took place following the wedding ceremony. According to People, event designer Diann Valentine arranged for two long tables in the shape of an "X" for all the guests to sit together. It was a family style celebration.

"They wanted an intimate celebration," a source told People reporters. "This wedding was all about family.

Martin Lawrence most recently starred in the movie "Death at a Funeral," and just finished the filming of a new movie "Big Mommas" Like Father, Like Son."

It's nice to see Hollywood types put family first. I think these are the kinds of celebrities who work to make their marriages and home lives successful. I hope Martin Lawrence and new wife Shamicka Gibbs enjoy a long and happy life together.
