MY IMPROMPTU HIATUS........

was due to more computer issues.

 

The message I was receiving was that my computer security had failed. If that wasn't scary enough, my computer began to "dump" items!!!

 

I shut off my computer, immediately, and called my hubby's friend!!! He told me to bring it in and he'd take a look at it.

 

After several days, he said he couldn't find anything wrong with it!! Go figure! Better safe, than sorry, is what I think.

 

It's great to be back on Gather!!!

What do you mean by it started to dump items?
And, why couldn't he find anything wrong?
Sometimes, a hacker virus can tell you that your security has failed. If you ever see that kind of message, don't click on it. Instead, go to your desktop and click on your Virus's icon instead, and do a computer sweep for Malware, or other threats such as this.
My hubby got that virus before. So beware.

My daughter said it was deleting stuff, so, we shut it off.
He updated our security, but, I have no idea why he couldn't find anything wrong.

It's Murphy's Law! My computer was acting up on me and the minute I take it to be fixed, nothing needs fixing! LOL

It might look like things are dumped, but they might be somewhere they can still be retrieved...ask about it.

My husband has been in the computer field all his adult life. He recommends backing up your files on a disc and keeping it in a safe place. Many of the companies he worked for had back ups kept off site in case anything happened.

Janie dear one,,, my computer gave me a headache a few months back,,, took it in three times until I found out that the 42 dollars I spent on McAfee didn't work,,, the viru is out there and is relentless,,, I had to delete McAfee completely,,, and install AVG, which is the best system I've found,,, that virus stays in your system no matter what,,,BUT now with AVG, it cleans whatever wants to interfer with my computer,,, I am grateful I found it,,, The system that worked on cleaning my computer works with AVG,,,They don't tell you,,,you have to ask,,,Then they must tell you,,, Bless you dear one,,,Hugs,,,
