Why you don't want the easiest job in the world

Easy isn't always better because easy doesn't motivate and it's not fulfilling.  Successful careers are built on motivation and intensity, not ease. You could certainly find an easier job than the one you have, but easy doesn't bring out the best in people and their professional potential. And why would you settle for anything less than your utmost potential? Stop looking for easy because it's not a
factor in success.

My "dream" job is the one I'm in right now, and I've created it all on my own. I wrote the job description and I included the skills. The biggest problem is motivation! Without a "Boss" I need to be a lot harder on myself and kick my own butt into gear cuz no one else will and I know I won't succeed if I don't!

in my line, having powerful friends just meant you'd get those do-nothing jobs they prefer

better to declare openly your disdain for any such favors from any such slackers; I always got first crack at cutting edge technologies that appeared in town; they feared such things like a plague
