Jessica Simpson, known more recently for her high profile boyfriends than pop chart hits, has dipped back into the NFL well for her latest fling.
Simpson, a well-known pop starlett that at one-time had a high profile marriage to former 98 Degrees member Nick Lachey, has been officially on the market since breaking up with Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo last year. It appears she is now off the market.
Simpson has recently been linked to Eric Johnson, a tight end that played in the NFL for seven seasons. Johnson, a Yale grad that is recently divorced from his ex-wife Keri in February, 2010, played six seasons for the San Francisco 49ers and one season with the New Orleans Saints.
TMZ just recently broke the news about the suspected love connection, but it is believed the two have been a couple since at least May, 2010.
Simpson is no stranger to National Football League fans, as her year and a half long, very public relationship with Romo brought her a great deal of notoriety. Romo, after taking a Mexican vacation with Simpson during the Cowboys' bye-week during the 2008 playoffs, took a beating for focusing more attention on his Hollywood-type lifestyle and not enough on his game. The fact the Cowboys then lost the next playoff game to the hated Giants caused many to feel Simpson was not only a distraction, but also a curse to Romo and the entire team.
As for Johnson, after a lackluster career, this is no doubt the most publicity and fame he has ever experienced, or is likely to experience. Nice job, stud.
