My husband had 10 tons of rough sand delivered to use in our arena. The sand was dumped in a big pile in the arena, and we were going to rake it out flat. (Of course, we discovered 10 tons was a drop in the bucket, we're going to need a LOT more). Anyway, I let the horses out into the arena for their daily exercise, and the pile was a hit with Luke, our adopted Mustang. He spent his time trying to flatten the pile for us.
Luke approaches the sandpile with interest:

Wow! I'm so much taller up here! (Luke is only about 13.5 hands)

Look at me! I'm king of the hill!

This stuff might be good to roll on....

And down he goes for a good scratch on the left side....

Now for the other side...

Feels SO good!

Meanwhile, Viking is not interested in Luke's antics, he just wants to know if my camera is a treat...

The whole thing was really hysterical, wish I would have grabbed my camera sooner!

Yeah, 10 tons may sound like a lot, but as you found out doesn't really amount to much. Learned that when we ordered decorative rock for landscaping when we first bought this house.
Cool photo essay, thanks.
