Rocker Ted Nugent called President Obama a clueless, rookie president. Nugent also called Supreme Court justices who disagreed with his views on the Second Amendment losers and weasels.
Nugent who is 61 years old was commenting on the Supreme Court ruling where the justices ruled 5-4 in favor of Americans' right to bear arms on June 28. Chicago wanted a ban on handguns, but the Supreme Court ruled it was illegal.
The OTRC reports that Nugent wrote, "By all intellectually honest considerations, my gift of life qualifies as supreme, and not only worthy of defending, but clearly demanding to be defended by all moral beings. And speaking of losers, sadly and frighteningly, some weasels made their way onto the Supreme Court who apparently do not agree with me."
Nugent has been very vocal about his dislike of President Obama's policies. He has called President Obama a communist. Also, he said that there is a Mao Zedong fan club at the White House.
He also is an author and uses his writing as well as voice to express his opposition to the Obama administration. Officials have not commented on Nugent's most recent remarks about the president.
President Obama is finding out that it's easy to criticize as he did President Bush, but there are two sides to every argument, and the truth lies in between. I think Nugent spoke rudely, and I don't condone name calling, but the Second Amendment is clear. Americans will not tolerate loss of freedoms including freedom of speech which Ted Nugent used here.

You agree the 2nd Amendment is clear. So how is truth to be found in the middle? It is clearly with you, me, and Nugent, and 5 justices on the court. Right? Argue, if you want, that Nugent is boorish or vulgar, but that doesn't change the truthfulness or validity of his claims. That, instead, is a comment on how he presents them.
I think the idea you want to convey, that no "side" is ever itself correct, is how we got to the point where 4 justices, sworn to uphold, protect, and defend, the constitution, could claim that what it says clearly isn't what it means. And tolerating this kind of compromise enables those, like those 4 justices and the entire governing council in Chicago, and MILLIONS of Americans, to always win the debate. If they go for everything today, but only get part of it because you are willing to compromise, then what makes you think they will be satisfied? You lost, and they won. Won't this make them return for more? Wouldn't you? The questions answer themselves, don't they?
So how about rather than pretend the constitution means something in between what you think, and what your polar opposite thinks, why not argue why you are right, your opposite is wrong, and fight for what you believe?
This in itself say's a lot, It was VERY clear at the time that we could and should keep and bear arms to protect our country and/or feed ourselves, But at the time that meant a musket or a flintlock pistol, NOT fully automatic weapons, RPG's, Nukes, or any number of modern arms which clearly should not be available to some of the psychos on the street today.
It is disingenuous to argue that Obama is pro-gun because he won't sign a weapons ban that is LESS restrictive than he wants. And no one I know, or have read, argues that you can own nukes. Those are strategic weapons anyhow. But for the fact that you get so much wrong in such a short post I still think you should be allowed to keep and bear, if you want to. If not, then don't. But please don't allow your convoluted concepts to justify your dislike of my rights.
FYI, there is open carry in California. No federal law demands otherwise of us.

As far as tax hikes, they have occurred. And are occuring. Forcing you to buy a certain level of health insurance is little different that raising taxes on you to pay for it through the government. Borrowing from the future in ways never before seen in this country (not even during WW2 did we borrow this much to fund current consumption and transfer payments) must result in costs whether you pay or your kids pay or their kids pay. Someone must pay. And in a variety of ways--taxes can go up, GDP will go down, etc.

The point you have missed is the topic of our rights per the constitution. WE are talking about Con Law and how it applies, and how the intended applicatioin can be overlooked because interpretation is sometimes based on simple, emotional, biased, lack of experience and one-sided thinking... rather than it's true intention. Read it. Know the people who wrote it. Understand why.
The Tea Party folks have every right to gather and to speak. I am not a Tea Party person, but would fight for their right to carry and protect themselves, as well as you.
I have never seen any proof or verification of a Tea Party person carrying assault rifles...and there is nothing laughable about anyone carrying and assault rifle to any public forum. Was this the clip that was shown on CNN etc that did not show the whole clip where it was actually someone not of the Tea Party carrying? See the whole clip and article on line, easy to find. This day and age we have many ways to confirm truths and lies. We are responsible for holding the media's feet to the fire in terms of honest and accurate reporting. Do not be afraid to look for that truth.
While Nugent is voicing his beliefs, take a look at the point being made, not how he got there. We often come off pretty clueless in our response to someone else being clueless. See how contagious it is? Find your own way and stop leaning on the fragile arms of weak media and easily regurgitated opinions and slants. This goes for left, center and right. It is easy to hitch yourself to a wagon of preconceived ideas...too easy. The hard work comes when we take the time and energy to develop thoughts for ourselves based on our own hard-earned findings. There is something about "you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free" I am thinking we need to practice and learn how to recognize the truth, and then act accordingly.
