Elizabeth Edwards broke her silence on the scandal surrounding her husband John Edwards. She spoke to Matt Lauer on the ‘Today’ show. Edwards says that she truly did believe that John Edwards’s affair with videographer Rielle Hunter was only a one-night stand.
Unfortunately for Elizabeth Edwards, that was a lie. In fact, John Edwards and Rielle Hunter had a long affair and had a child together. Like several of us, Edwards was watching when Hunter was on Oprah last year. I remember as I watched wondering if Elizabeth Edwards was watching thinking how horrible it would be to have to see and hear it.
According to Edwards, she and Hunter are very different people. So different, in fact, that it is tough for her to imagine John Edwards being attached to both of them.
Elizabeth Edwards has been treated horribly during this entire scandal by John Edwards. In fact, he only told her his affair details just hours before his ‘Nightline’ appearance where he discussed the affair. Unbelievable!
The couple is working together, though, in an effort to raise their children. They even speak during soccer games sometimes. Edwards says that John Edwards changed over time.
Elizabeth Edwards is battling cancer, and she has admitted that the cancer has spread. She has switched chemotherapy medicines, and is reportedly feeling pretty good. I can’t believe that her husband has abandoned her during this time in her life.
