Arriving on July 9, 2010 is the new film "The Kids are All Right". So far the movie is getting considerable praise in the early reviews. It was a breakout hit at this year's Sundance Film Festival way back in January. In fact Box Office Magazine is calling it "A crowd-pleasing, feel-good comedy for an era in which the very definition of “family” is fluid and in flux." Sounds like a good film in the tradition of movies like "Juno", "Miss Sunshine" and "American Beauty" all of which explore the modern family dynamics.
In this particular film, two children seek to find out who their biological father is. That's because their parents are a lesbian couple who employed the services of a sperm bank to have children. Once the kids find their true father, they seek to integrate him into their current family picture and that's where the fun starts. This is reportedly a great examination of how different modern-day families exist.
Starring in this new film will be Annette Benning, Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo along with Mia Wasikowska who was in "Alice in Wonderland". It was directed by Lisa Cholodenko and features a run time of 1 hour 44 minutes with an R rating by the MPAA. The movie includes strong sexual content, nudity, language as well as some teen drug/alcohol abuse. "The Kids Are All Right" will open in theaters with a limited release.
This looks to be a unique comedy which is always refreshing to see among the reboots and remakes coming out! Check out the "Kids Are All Right" movie trailer below on YouTube video!
