On July 25 AMC premieres the first episode of Season 4 for the crtically acclaimed "Mad Men" and fans of the show can't wait. Are you one of them? I sure am.
Because AMC is not a broadcast network they can do pretty much what they like as far as scheduling and with Mad Men they've taken the liberty of making a Mad Men premiere an ANNUAL event. Just like American Idol... or the Super Bowl.
Does this ramp up the interest? If the numbers are any indication the answer must be yes. Mad Men is the highest rated series in the history of cable TV and was responsible for the "Cable Revolution" that swept the Emmys for the first time in 2008 and continued in 2009.
What about "The Sopranos" you ask? That's premium cable. It's different. Technically you have to "pay" to watch it.
So what's the big deal? Those in the know have already started salivating over Joan's measurements. That's Christina Hendricks and apparently she's done just the right slimming down in all the right curves. She's gonna need it if she intends to bolt from behind the Executive Assistant's desk and break through to the front office.
And Don Draper (Jon Hamm) shows no signs of slowing down in his ambitious plan to head up his own ad agency, smoking himself to death along the way.
So Mad Men and Mad Women rejoice! The countdown has begun. Last year we saw the death of a President and the wiping out of a stodgy old firm for a leaner, meaner fighting machine.
And this year? How can it be bad? According to the timeline, it's time to re-Meet The Beatles!
Check out this preview and mark your calendars.
It's almost 1964 all over again...
