As you can tell from reading my profile, I am a big fan of ABC's The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. This season of The Bachelorette features Ali Fedotowsky, a blond haired beauty from Massachusetts. The anticipation of what will happen next week is a huge part of the show, and as a loyal viewer I'm starting to become concerned over how much they're showing at the end of each episode when they preview the upcoming week.
After Ali gives out the roses and the champagne toast is made, we hear the host Chris Harrison's voice come on and say "Next week, on The Bachelorette..." and scenes from the upcoming week start to roll. After watching the most recent episode (Episode 6, in Istanbul, Turkey) I was seriously disappointed to see WAY! TOO! MUCH! revealed. Currently, Ali is down to 5 men - Ty, Frank, Roberto, Kirk and Chris. And this week, they're headed to Lisbon, Portugal. But that's not all they showed....
Hometown dates occur when there's 4 contestants left, so that'll be the episode AFTER Portugal. And they showed both Roberto and Frank taking Ali to their hometowns! Ok well, thanks guess we know that both of them make it past the Portugal episode. They also said that Ali would be ending the show in Tahiti. Usually 3 contestants go to the ending tropical location, and they showed Frank in Tahiti saying something to Ali that makes them BOTH break down into tears. It also looked like Ty was in Tahiti as well. More surprises being ruined.
Dear ABC, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW THESE THINGS! I like being surprised at the rose ceremony each week... for a show such as this, when they work so hard to keep things a secret until the final episode airs, I'm surprised they showed the previews that they did.
What do YOU think? Does this bother you, either about this show or another one?
I like being surprised!
