There will always be a market for simple. Consumers don't always want
more. Many times they just want to receive the same benefit with less commitment of attention.
Satisfaction is a relative equation; there are two variables you can adjust to improve the output. Many companies and marketers only focus on increasing what the consumer receives, and ignore the opportunity to decrease what the consumer commits.
Simple is just as marketable as more.

I'm saying that a lot of marketers worry about how to deliver more product or more service to consumers, instead of considering how to deliver a product/service that requires less of a consumer's time/attention. I think there a lot's of examples where simplicity is a key to marketing. Check out kayak vs orbitz. Same service, kayak is just much simpler, and consumers are starting to reward them for that.
