Well first off I would like to say that I thought the Michael Jackson tribute at the BET awards was way better than the one at the MTV awards last year! Secondly, there are a lot of things that you can say about Chris Brown and the situation he got himself into last year with Rihanna, but one thing you can absolutely not deny is his talent! He killed it at that award show! His dancing was on point!
What many people are speculating about is his breakdown and the emotional crying on stage. I'm sure many Chris Brown haters think that it was not sincere, but if they consider everything that has happened I'm sure they would conclude that those tears genuine. I definitely think that is what the audience thought because they gave him a standing ovation.
I mean could you imagine everyone, knowing about the one HUGE mistake you made? He was seriously on top of his game, he was in a young Hollywood power couple relationship and in one night, one mistake and his career took a huge dive! The bottom of his life dropped out from underneath him and the thing he loved most, music, performing, his career in turmoil because of a bad choice in his relationship with Rihanna. Not to mention in the mean time Oprah kicking him while he's down having numerous shows centered on domestic violence, and some sort of countdown to get Rihanna to break up with him and Rihanna's career steady rocketing up! It was had to be insane! I couldn't imagine Oprah having shows about me and all my mistakes. Domestic violence is no joke though. It isn't a light mistake and it's no laughing matter or something to just look over. It is a sad truth, and an even more horrible truth is that it's not the first time it's happened and it won't be the last. I don't wish it on anyone having known to many family members and friends who have gone through it.
I just don't think it's right, either, for someone to be permanently blacklisted because of their human imperfection. We are all imperfect and make mistakes, and if someone is trying to change for the better it's a good thing.
