My Knight and Day movie review and adventure

It took me three tries to see this movie, the third time being the charm.  The first time was Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and about ten minutes into the showing the movie broke.  Bummer, but we were all issued free passes for a movie of our choice for the inconvenience. I still wanted to see Knight and Day so I opted for the 4:00 p.m. showing.  It was sold out (which was probably code for the movie is still broken).  I tried successfully on Sunday for the 2:00 p.m. movie and was rewarded with an enjoyable two hours of viewing time.

Knight and Day is a light comedy/action movie staring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.  Tom Cruise plays the role of Roy Miller a government secret agent who is tying his best to protect the inventor and invention of a young nerdy genius who has invented a battery that will revolutionize the fuel world as we know it.  Cameron Diaz plays the role of June Havens an innocent bystander who accidently gets involved in the action.  Roy and June are chased from continent to continent trying to avoid the bad guys and creating a lot of havoc along the way.  There are lots of exciting vehicle chases, motorcycle rides, air plane crashes and gun fights with bullets flying everywhere.  I love a movie where the good guy can walk into a hail of gunfire without the bullets hitting him and being able to kill off at least a dozen or so bad guys and protecting the innocent Miss June at the same time before escaping.  The plot of this movie is very predictable but the silly dialogue and banter between Roy and June and the chemistry that eventually develops between the two make it an enjoyable two hours.

Anyway, if you're looking for an entertaining movie that is action filled and pretty funny at the same time then you'll like this film.  It was nice to see Tom Cruise doing light comedy, he does it so well and Cameron Diaz is at her best in this one as well, hopefully overcoming last years flop “The Box”, but that’s another review.  Knight and Day has received only mediocre reviews but I personally think it was a good movie and I’m glad that I was persistent in trying to see it.

Your review is the only good one I have read about this movie. I'll probably wait for it on DVD and Netflix.

It's definitely a DVD movie. I have time on my hands and going to the movies to watch Tom Cruise on the big screen is a treat. LOL!

I almost never go to see a movie in a theatre and watch a relatively few at home but this kind of movie would irritate me instead of entertain me. I don't really know why that is so, but it is just the way I am. I do enjoy a well made movie and humor that is well presented but somehow I just am turned of by most of what is sold as humor or comedy today.

I am glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the review however. To each his or her own.

Awwww, but seeing Tom Cruise on the big screen in a light hearted movie is a nice treat.

Oh I love going to the movies. Always have. Seeing Avatar on the big screen in 3D was a real treat. The first time I saw it I downloaded it from one of the internet pirate sites and loved it and knew that it was one that I would have to see on the big screen. I'm just a kid at heart and movies used to be a cheap time killer. It's now and expensive outing. When I take my three little grands to a movie, after buying popcorn and a drink I never get out without spending $85 to $95 dollars just for a couple of hours of entertainment. This weekends adventure cost me $6.50 for the senior citizen ticket, $4 for medium popcorn and $4 for a medium drink. That's14.50 for a day that I could not even see the movie I wanted to see. The next day when I did see the movie I bought more popcorn and another drink for another $8. So this movie outing cost me $22.50 but I still enjoyed it. LOL! I also like reading books and they cost too, but my library card comes in hady for reading. Some of the newer books can cost as much as $19 to $25 dollars, depending on the author and subject matter. I don't have cable TV so I don't watch a lot of TV. I do have a Netflix subscription that my daughter gave me and I take advantage of this. I used to be too busy to stay at home and do any of these things but my life is slowing down and since I'm pretty much a loner going to the movies reminds me of light hearted childhood days. It pleases me to do so. I also like to play on Gather.

Lee, we all have our likes and dislikes I hate crowds and am not too fond of movies either that is a tow-fer! I am happy you find pleasure in them and good for you, no movie house for me!

Color me cheap, but we go to eat before going to the movies. It's cheaper to eat at a nice restaurant than pay those outrageous movie concession stand prices.

This is one I definitely want to see. Professional critics always seem to give so-so reviews to good popcorn fare. If they critics aren't sure about it, then it must be good! lol

We went to see it and I think what I enjoyed most is something you'll understand, Lee. Remember when we were growing up how the women always just stood there and watched the men get beat up or whatever? It still thrills me to see a woman who participates in the fight, whether it's a simple bop on the head or a kick or using a gun. I wouldn't just stand there and let someone important to me be attacked.

Your review of this film was excellent Lee. Unfortunately, the only Tom Cruise film I have ever wanted to see was" Rain Man".

If you like action movies you'll like this one, it has lots and lots of action and makes you laugh at the same time. Thanks for commenting.
