Stephenie Meyer talks Twilight Midnight Sun. Is a release date in sight?

This is very interesting. My daughter is thirty year-old and loves that series. My Goddaughter is fourteen and loves it just as much. I confess to owning copies of Twilight and New Moon. As a fan, I would enjoy Midnight Sun. As a writer, I know first hand that there are times when I need to back away and leave something sit for quite a while until my energy and imagination have returned.

If she finishes this book I'm sure all of the Twilight fans will be happy campers!

I'm sure my daughter would love to read it.

I do sympathise totally with Stephenie, to have your work stolen and then posted online for all the world to see must be devastating. Only another artist could begin to halfway understand the betrayal she must feel. To put your body and soul into a piece of work and then have it snatched away before you are happy with it is wrong, but what is even worse is to actually know the person who has done it is a double blow.
I have only recently discovered the twilight saga, before that, I was of the opinion that it was the latest teenage craze, especially after seeing all the screaming girls at the film premiers. And lets be honest another craze will be along shortly no doubt. But I must admit to being totally enthralled by the whole saga. I have read the books a number of times, and watch the films at least once a month. They really are so well written, and it is so easy to lose yourself in this fantasy world. But I really do feel that it is the Twilight fans who are being let down, they are not the ones who published the unfinished work, but because of someone elses stupidity and possible greed they have had a carrot dangled in front of them and then snatched away. To look into Bellas world through Edwards eyes seems such a fascinating idea, it really would be a shame if the entire book never came to see the light of day. Maybe in the not to distant future Stephenie may have a rethink on the matter.
Personally I would have prefered Midnight Sun to the Bree Tanner book, although it was ok I felt as though the fans were offered that in place of the one they all want. I didn't think it was up to Stephenies usual standard. Shame really. But fingers crossed maybe the fans wil get what they want before the next craze comes along.

I am a huge fan of all stephanie meyers books and The Twilight Saga was definitely my fave of all her books even before all the movies came out and I always wondered what it would be like from Edwards perspective and I would Definitely enjoy reading it in that was even though i know all the storys already and i know what would happen I feel that in his perspective you get to know the other characters more too cause he can hear what people are thinking so you really get more than just the way hes feeling and what he is thinking But I agree with stephanie 100 percent if someone wouldnt have leaked the story it prob would be published by now or atleast close to it . It just sucks that 1 person would be so selfish and ruin it for everyone else And i totally get what she means by it feeling as if its homework now cause before she was doing it for fun and nobody was making her feel obligated to finish it cause nobody knew about it and if it was like it was then nobody would be pushing her about it and she would have finshed it sometimes ignoreance is bliss for everyone

I am a HUGE fan of the twilight saga and i want another book added its like theres something missing and that how Edward met Bella not Bella meeting Edward you know i need Edwards point of view yeah part of the book was posted online but the people that already read it want to know how it ends and if and when Stephenie Meyer releases the book people will be lining up to buy Midnight Sun because I know i will I know i cant make Stephenie Meyer Finish the book and publish it but i can hope she will and if she does im sure she will make hundreds.....thousands........ millions of people happy!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say, I love the twilight series and I thought that it couldn't get any better.... Then, I went onto Stephanie's website and saw the partial draft.... Can I say its the best thing she's EVER written! After just 5 minutes of reading... I was drawn in.... It was really genious to give Edwards side to the story, and I would be very dissapointed if she decided to not finish it..... And along with that thought, It would be really amazing if she worte the other books in his perspective.... Again, This draft (and although it is just a draft) is the best thing that I have read that she had produced... STEPHANIE please continue!!!!!!!!!

I just read the chapters online and Stephanie's interview here. I don't remember the car chase scene she cites, but if it's completely new material, then I am intrigued. There's lots of new insight written into Edward's POV within Midnight Sun, it's not just a re-hash. A good alternative POV should add additional information, and even extra scenes, and if Stephanie's all about the characters, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what she produces. I love the Cullen clan, and she gives us more insight into their dynamics as a family. Additional time to write that book will only tighten her craft, I believe. Though I'm sad to hear that I'll have to wait an indefinite amount of time for it, inspiration to write takes time, and you really need to be in love with the characters in order to hear their voice. So I get it, Stephanie. I'm sorry to hear about the disappointment, but i get it.

As Stephanie moves onto other projects, I hope she comes back to these characters rather than completely move on. She says she likes to re-edit stories all the time, and if this story was her "first love", it means she may just that much more ready to look back at it when the time comes. I'm banking that Midnight Sun will have greater depth when she's ready. But get it done soon, or you may completely move on and then we'll never get the story!

oh my! I just finished reading the draft of midnight sun and HAD to find out the release date. My mother (35) and myself (13) are in LOVE with our twilight books and couldnt be more estatic to her continuing the saga from Edwards perspective and quite frankly I cant wait for the finishing aswell as his version of new moon,eclipse, and breaking dawn. I will never get tired of reading and re-reading my most prized book collection.

All I have to say is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stephenie meyer Please finish midnight sun you might be tired of writing about vampires but I'm definetly not tired. Of reading about edward!!!! I can't express how much I love your novels at first I was sceptical b/c everyone was going on and on and then I picked up twilight and I literally didn't put it down until I had read all for within a week its been a few months now but on the new arrival of breaking dawn pt 1 I decided to start reading midnight sun almost done and I am sooooooo sad that I won't be able to finish it...... if you wait 10 years some of the huge twilight fans may not be able to read it as you know stuff happens everyday..... please finish it so the million of twilight lovers can enjoy don't let the person who leaked it ruin it for the fans that want it so bad.!!!! Twilight is like an addiction I don't think I could ever get enough... next I'm moving to bree tanner... but I need a jacobs view or the next. One and a finished midnight sun....

I wasn't going to read Midnight Sun, because Stephanie didn't want fans to read it, but I read the first chapter and was hooked. read all might, until I was finished. it was so great, and it'll be such a shame if it never gets published!
