My sister and brother-in-law are going to see Michael Buble in concert tonight. I think that's pretty cool. I've never seen any really big name musicians or singers perform. My dad told me he once saw Elvis Presley. What I couldn't understand is how he didn't think it was a big deal. Two if his sisters dragged him to one of his concerts. He didn't enjoy it, but I think it is cool that he got to see Elvis Presley live.
Have you ever seen any famous singers or bands perform live?

Seen the musical Oklahoma for the 16th birthday. Several plays through out the town I grew up in....
Not to mention the "big names" now that were just little acts at rodeos, and bars and such ~ heck probably did not even go by the name they are now lmbo hahahahahahaha
Now the fun is taken out of it for me. Way to big, can not see the act that you pay for unless of course you pay a million bucks for front row seats...... way to many people. Just no longer fun like it used to be. Though it is probably just me? I am happy to just listen to a fiddle player or a guitar player where ever I may run into them.
Guy passed up going to woodstock, it was supposed to be this little thing and he did not want to travel to it lmbo hahahahahaha He has seen a host of old rockers himself...... I think we are just getting old lmbo hahahahaha
You're probably the only one in this discussion who would know who Wanda Jackson is. Or maybe not. LOL She performed at our church once, and I remember I didn't know who she was, but a lot of people came and were enthralled.
I've seen several Christian acts that are big in the Christian music world, but nothing compared to Merle Haggard and the like.
I did see the Oakridge Boys once. When they were in Branson, Missouri.
I used to travel quite a lot, so nevada, washington then here in Oregon is where I seen acts, and there is more then that, that I listed. I have ran into actors trying to keep a low profile, singers, all sorts of people who either were here for work or like I said to hide out. I ran into a song writer in a round about way, actually it was embarrassing. Some chick I new dragged me into this bar to meet the guy, and tell you the truth I really do not like to impose. I think it is rude.
Than in a round about way I got into selling music. That put me in touch with some gifted people.... I learned that some of these people did not keep or ever had there vinyl in their hands, but it was sold by music companies. So I had a couple people from the olden days buy back there own vinyl (well I traded with them, or just gave them there vinyl after they proved to me they were who they said they were. You know how people are).
So because of the selling of music I do know who Wanda Jackson is. The rockabilly lady.
Oh I ran into a couple who the women is now selling christian music.... All I remember of them is one they were super nice people!! And when she started they (her and her hubby), had opened a coffee stand and selling the cassettes at the coffee stand lmbo hahahahahhaha
I still have a vinyl album of this Hawaiian dude I ran into. He told me him and some others had a band back in the day, so to prove it he brought me one of there vinyl albums which I still have lmbo hahahahahaha. He is on the back of it with a bio and such, though he was much younger in the photograph on the back of the vinyl.
Fame dose not last long for some people (most people, I figure just ride the wave as long as a person can). I have always been one who people open up too, it helps that I do not name drop. I mean just meeting someone, or talking with them or something does not make their talent rub off, or it is not like talent is catchy, wish it was lmbo hahahahahahahaha ;0)
My oldest son ran into alice cooper a while back, and talked with that x file guy, my kids know who such people are and he was soooo excited!! Though I had to remind him that such people do not remember people. They have people always saying such things...... I hated to burst his bubble but reality is what it is.
The Monkees
John Denver
Gerry and the Pacemakers
The WHO
Guess Who
AC/DC
Guns and Roses
Lyle Lovitt
Johnnie Mathis
and I am sure there are some I missed.
Parliament/Funkadelic
Rufus with Chaka Khan
Bootsy Collins
The Floaters
There were a couple more like the Friends of Distinction. As you can see, my musical tastes weren't as diverse then, as they are now. LOL!
I missed out on Elvis Presley. I liked his early music, although I was still a toddler at that time, I heard it later when I was around 9 to 12 years old probably. By the time I was old enough to know Elvis, I heard he had gotten really fat. I did not like his new music, Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto, etc., and then suddenly he was dead.
Knowing what I know now about Elvis, I would have been a regular concert fan of his.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, Alice Cooper, Peter Frampton, Eagles, ZZ Top, Johnny Cash
Don Henley, Rolling Stones, Carrie Underwood, Reba McIntire, Tina Turner, Willie Nelson
Other concerts, Stevie Nicks, Dixie Chicks, U2, Pink Floyd, when I was older never saw any when I was younger.
