Who didn't see this one coming? Last season's bachelor Jake Pavelka and his fiancee Vienna Girardi have called it quits and ended their engagement. Despite her winning the final rose, engagement ring and her moving to Texas to live near Jake, the two just can't make it work. They released a statement saying "Jake and Vienna have split and appreciate the respect for their privacy at this time."
For all us dedicated Bachelor fans, this is HUGE. NEWS. How many of us watched last season in agony when Jake kept giving Vienna roses? She acted like an immature child, who wanted to play house instead of having a grown up relationship and making a real commitment. When Jake chose her over Tenley, the world was shocked. But... this has happened before.
DeAnna chose the wild child Jesse over the grounded Jason when she was the Bachelorette. And they broke up months later. Jake had the choice between grounded Tenley and childlike Vienna, and he chose immaturity over stability.
Apparently Jake called his ex-girlfriend the day after filming wrapped and told her none of the girls on the show mattered to him... definitely not the greatest first step in his relationship with Vienna.
Much as I love The Bachelor, there is nothing realistic about fantasy dates all over the world. Finding love on TV is not realistic and for the select few who were able to take what they found on the show and make it work in real life, I commend you.
So long, Vienna. Time to find another TV to get more famous on. Maybe Jake will join you... since you both love the camera so much.
