Yahoo! News Headlines that 24 year old Amanda Bynes is retiring. Apparently she doesn't find acting fun anymore. She started out doing the comedy sketch "All That" before doing her own "The Amanda Show." Amanda, along with co-star Jennnie Garth also was on the sitcom "What I like About You". Then she hit the big screen doing such films as "She's The Man" and "Hairspray." Why is she retiring at such a young age? Well, she doesn't find acting fun any longer. I wonder why.
For the majority of our actors and actressess their day starts at 5:00-6:00 a.m. They have to go to make-up, then comes wardrobe, then comes the staging. If they are young, they have their tutoring and between all that, they have to learn their lines. And that is just a few behind-the-scenes issues they deal with on a daily basis.
Yes, the glamour and the fame is nice. But I have read comments from actors that the feeling of a job well done is what gives them a feeling of accomplishment. The ability to convince an audience of the reality of a film, to get the audience emotionally involved is the challenge that is well rewarded when they break box office. Or win an Oscar. That is why so many more actors and actresses feel that film making, whether for a series or a movie, is  just another job.
So, would you like getting up before the sun does? Then you have a long day of people telling you what to wear, what to eat, where to go, what to do, and how to do it, all before you go home maybe twelve hours later. Does that really sound like alot of fun? Is that a job you could do for twenty or thirty years? It really makes one stop and think about the dedication and tenacity of our film makers, actors and actresses.
