Interleague play certainly seems to bring the best out of Justin Verlander. Lately, it's done the same for the Tigers as a team. Tonight was no different.
Verlander continued his success against NL opponents, by dominating the Washington Nationals, striking out 11 and walking none.
Justin Verlander is now 11-1 with a 2.88 ERA in 14 career interleague starts.
The Tigers are now an incredible 58-22 vs. the National League since interleague play started. That record was improved tonight with help from Brennan Boesch, who went 3 for 4, including a monster 420 ft. homerun to right center field.
This is what the Tigers needed with this homestand. After sweeping the Pirates, they go for the series sweep vs. Washington tomorrow.
Brennan Boesh leads all A.L. rookies with 9 HR's and 34 RBI's. Boesch is a beast!
