of getting accosted on the street. I feel as if I am being assaulted.
There are about 1/2 dozen organizations that have set up people on the street - they work in pairs so they get you coming or going - to get people interested in whatever they're drumming up money for.
I've seen the ASPCA, the ACLU, an organization for Human Rights (read Gay Rights), at least three different ecology campaigns.
No... I don't "have a second", want to donate, want to chat about whatever they're drumming up charity for...
I'd like to be able to walk where I am going, but being stopped two or three times on my journey is making me more willing to take the bus instead.

The next time you take a stroll, throw on a few buttons and walk with a handful of brochures. They'll likely leave you alone if they think that you're also hawking something.Â
I could become a moonie - I remember when they accosted people on the street (although they usually left me alone)
I could also become an eccentric.... oh, I am that already...
You've given me food for thought - thanks
