Actually this is the crash site of the plane that is used in a very popular movie. This site was used for the movie War of the Worlds staring Tom Cruise.

This is a Commercial 747 that they chopped into pieces and used for the filming. The set is exactly as it was for filming, except one of the house's was moved...so the tram can travel through the set.

There is a lot of smoking and moving parts going on that all grabs your attention.

It's a really cool, and HUGE set to travel through.

In the movie there were no bodies to be seen in this scene - and there are none on the set during the tour either. Although, i guess on Halloween...cast workers & dummies do place themselves within the set. A scarier scene I'm sure!

While on the tour, you stay in the tram at all times. Thankfully the driver slows down often to allow for some nice photo ops (remember my Norman Bates article? same tour).

Have you ever been to Universal Studios & gone on the Studio Tour?

I've taken a similar tour...and I'm always amazed at the amount of work, time and money that must be spent for even the shortest of scenes.
I have never been there.
