This summer has been a mix of good and bad experiences with seed/bulb/root companies. I have had some really good seeds and then I have some that have failed to do anything. I have some new ones in the ground and in pots that have not had time to sprout Over the next few weeks I will be posting an article on the good the bad and the ugly when it comes to these companies and my interaction with them if I have to call or email them with a problem with their products.
The first two companies I will be posting about show both sides off the good and the bad you can run into when buying plants. And one company you need to stay far away from.
First lets go with the good~No Thyme Productions~I purchased Borage seeds from them threw amazon.com . I received the package in good condition and no visible damage. I never though to open and count the seeds I received for a few days. The day I started to plant them I opened the package and there were only 10 seeds and something that looked like crushed seeds. I emailed them today after I seen that those 10 seeds started sprouting to let them know what I had received and the growth of those seeds. I quickly received and email informing me they would be sending me 3 packages of seeds!! Not what I expected at all so I'm very pleased and when I receive my seeds they will get a great review as a seller on amazon. Great customer service No Thyme Productions. So if you are looking for seeds check them out. (I did receive more seeds 4 packs instead of 3. Two of the packs were Organic.)

Now for the ugly VanZyverden sold threw Walmart and Home Depo this company is impossible to contact. No email address. No website and no 800 number. Probably because they know their product quality is very poor. Stay away and buy something that will grow from another company. Here is what I bought and the progress of the bulbs/roots etc.
1 city of Lyon clematis~did not grow
1 Belle of Woking clematis~did not grow I was so looking forward to these baby blue blooms. :update this has made an appearance ya but its only 4 inches tall so far
5 star gazer lilium bulbs~3 are growing but seam very small
3 picasso cannas rhizomes~2 are growing~:update these are small and sickly
1 Sarah Bernhardt peony~growing
1 bowl of beauty peony ~no sight of it yet but its not been planted long
4 cinnamon ferns~poor growth and trying to die :update these did die :(
3 Ismene Preuvian Daffodils~not to be seen yet I still should have a few of these bloom I bought from another company
8 caladium white~no show so far but it could be too soon: update these did grow and they bloomed

I have since read many reviews online of the problems others have had that I wish I had read before I purchased. I bought mine at walmart but the also have stuff on amazon too. I will not be purchasing from them again and I'm not done trying to contact them. Below you will see the beautiful blooms I should have had in my garden but due to poor quality products I dont!

My Dad always bought from Agway - he also bought stock and they went belly up around the time Dad died. His stock was worthless. I'm glad he didn't know about that.
