Alanis Morissette married rapper Souleye, 30, (real name Mario Treadway) in a private intimate ceremony on May 22. Family and close friends were present at their Los Angeles home according to PEOPLE.
Morissette spread the word on her Twitter page saying this:
"So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married. We're very excited to embark on this journey with each other...sending love...connect soon xo-Alanis."
Morissette was previously engaged to "The Proposal" star, Ryan Reynolds. They called off the wedding in 2007.
This is the first marriage for the couple and they wed a week before Morissette's 36th birthday on June 1. The two have been dating since 2009.
Congrats to the happy couple. I am glad they were able to keep it private and to be able to have a respectable wedding without all the media being nosy. Even though celebrities are in the limelight, I think they should be allowed their privacy too.

I've always liked her for being a very genuine person (who is happy to be herself, as evidenced by the fact she sees no need to get a ton of plastic surgery to look like a Barbie doll). She's had a painful past, and I hope she can put her past demons to rest so she can enjoy life with her new husband.
