groups where the owner is no longer on gather.or no moderator/dead groups

these groups have no owner on gather.

No one at the helm means say and do and post whatever you want.

creeps can go wild. INSULT THE OWNER. THEY ARE GONE.

THIS IS THE DAWN OF GATHER ANARCHY, GO WILD.

last week i deleted about 10 such groups from my groups list.

the owners names are preceded and followed by 0000 which is gather lingo for gone.

How many of these leadershipless posts do you belong to?
What does gather do about these orphans??

it surprised me as to HOW many are "owner-less" as well.
Some were my friends and now I wonder why they left.

bummer, ain't it. some were real good, but now I know why they changed.(the owner leaving)
2 of them i considered good friends. and i just found out that another friend left.
I will go through my friend list next.

I always wanted to clean my groups out, however I never knew how to tell the group was without a moderator. Maybe now I can finally do some cleaning. Thanks for sharing this.

IF the owner is gone it would look like:

The owner's name would have 4 zero's at both ends.

I belong to over 100 post anything groups, and no need to stay in them if the owner isn't active to look at what is posted.

Ed,

Gather sometimes will remove groups owned by former members. You may also request to take over ownership of any group owned by a member that has had their account removed (whether removal is of their own volition or not).

Keep in mind that people who post to such groups are hoping for views/comments/points. That's probably why Gather doesn't shut them down. If you want to take over one or more of these groups, send a message to Gather support.

there are only a couple here, but I am sure, of the 700 groups I belong to...many are probably ownerless....
