Venus Williams sure had our attention with her outfits at the French Open. But now Williams is making an early exit after falling to Nadia Petrova 6-4, 6-3.
The 19th ranked Russian looked poised and ready, and was very dominating in taking down Venus in two stes. Petrova actually reminded me of Williams with her dominate play.
Petrova advances to the quarter-finals. She will be playing against a fellow Russian, Elena Dementieva.
This was Petrova’s first victory against Venus. Williams previously won four matches over Petrova. The 19th seed Russian qualified for the semi-finals back in 2003 and in 2005.
Now I can't see any more fashion statements from Venus. That's no good! Maybe she can loan them to some of the girls left in the tournament?
Here's a little Venus for ya!
