My daughter informed just a few days before my granddaughter's birthday party that I was baking her a cake. She wanted me to bake a pound cake and have it ready to decorate when she got off work Friday, the 21st. So I baked the cake that morning and when I got home from driving the school bus that afternoon, I made the icing and got all the decorations together on the dining room table.

This is the top of the cake. We have graham crackers crushed up for the "sand". Jello was used for the "water". Airhead Extremes made perfect beach towels. Icing on the Teddy Grahams gave them bathing suits and sunglasses, peach rings for the water rings, toothpicks and dental floss made a perfect volleyball net, orange Runts made great beach balls, and the frisbee is one of those large dot things for decorating. And what beach would be complete without a shark in the water? LOL

Here on the side view you can see the Goldfish crackers, Nerds for gravel, and green Twizzlers for seaweed. We used the edible Pearls for the bubbles and one more shark in the "water" on the side.
This cake was a hit and tons of fun to make. I wonder what we will doing for my grandson's birthday in September?
