Enjoying a glass of wine and a fresh fish dish from room service, we watched our first sunset in Kauai looking out on Hanalei Bay.
It was the perfect end to a long day of flying and getting situated into new digs. It's been over thirty years since we visited this amazing island. The last time we were here we had to fly in from Oahu but now San Francisco airport has direct flights to Lihue and so tourists can save both time and money.
We camera bugs are prone to shoot sunsets in pursuit of the spectacular glory of day's end. I keep swearing to give up on an impossible goal. But I can't seem to stop. Here is the sequence of shots I took that night.
I'm not disappointed with these shots.

But I'm wondering if you see the face in this one. It's so very clear to me.

We're having a wonderful time. It's only just after nine here! Jet lag has been an issue.
I love to photograph sunsets, too....but even better, sunrises.
Oh, such gorgeous photos, my dear friend! You brought my heart such joy and peace right now - oodles of it! And disappointed?!!! If I'd been behind the lens for these stunning frames, I would've applied to the National Geographic right away for Chief Photographer!
Each one is such a wonderfully soothing ray on its own - but taken together, they actually morph into the sun itself in all its glory! My fave is the one right below the
"visagic wonder" - it just sort of exploded in my face , cascading down deep into me in a spectral symphony of chords and movements that left me dancing with delight!
I did the see the face of a bearded man looking to the left of the pic very near the bottom, just above the sunburst ... where did you espy it, Jannie?
Thanks for this stunning array of days-end pics, my dear friend! Loved them all!
(((((((((((((((((((((((Jannie)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I can't see the face in the photo, though.
