Senator Shelby slams the Census Bureau after two cases of alleged criminals went door to door to take the Census. Shelby wants the U.S. Census Bureau to do more to prevent this from happening.
What are the guidelines for working for the Census Bureau before allowing someone to go door to door asks Senator Shelby. Shelby sharply criticized the Census Bureau. Shelby sent a letter of complaint after Frank Kuni reportedly used fake id's to pass an initial background check. Fortunately, an alert citizen recognized the 47 year old from the state's Internet sex offender registry. Kuni was later arrested.
In another case in Indiana, a volunteer census worker named Daniel Miller allegedly raped and beat a 21 year old handicapped woman after returning to her home after conducting the interview for the Census bureau.
Senator Shelby is concerned that the U.S. Census Bureau made no report of the connections, and took no responsibility for the crimes, and error in safety after the U.S. Census Bureau spent $2.5 million in advertising on a Super Bowl commercial convincing Americans they should open their doors to the Census takers.
