If you've ever seen the show Toddlers & Tiaras, the impression you're left with is that the parents are messed up. Guess what? They're "Parents of the Year" compared to the mothers and fathers of a group of 7-year-old "Single Ladies" who are making headlines for their dance to Beyonce's hit song.
A dance troupe of young girls have become YouTube hits for their recital performance of "Single Ladies". It sounds cute at first, but it's disturbing on so many levels. The young girls are wearing lingerie and moving very provocatively. Congratulations to the children for working hard on an after school activity, but shame on the parents for allowing their daughters to be put on public display in such a sexual manner. And what's up with the audience cheering after as if Beyonce herself had performed? I'd expect to hear gasps of surprise instead or cries of protest instead.
What would Beyonce think of all of this? Eventually she's going to have to address it because a reporter will bring it up in an interview. What can you say when you know your music is the soundtrack for a pedophile's entertainment?
