Hey Moms!
Did you have another crazy, busy, tons-to-do kind of week? Do your weeks just go on and on and on? Well get ready to take some time for yourself and relax with other Gather Moms every Wednesday.
We’ll post a new article like this one each Wednesday and give you the chance to chill out and chat with your friends about the many things you experienced. Tell us what you did each day – where you took the kids, how you get quality time with your family, what you made for dinner, how many hats you wore, etc. This is your chance to just vent away and get some R&R for yourself!
To reward you for the amazing work you do for your family, we’ll be awarding two (2) Gather Moms who participate in each chat with 100 Gather Points™! Winners will be announced in this article’s comment thread the day after the chat.
So jump right in and get to venting! The chat will run from 10-11PM ET tonight in the comment thread below to give you plenty of time to share.
Are you a new mom on Gather? Welcome! To join the chat, submit your comments and make sure to keep hitting "refresh" to ensure you don't miss any other comments.

I really like your new icon.
I don't see how you do it! I remember what it is like when you have a kid graduating and gettitng ready for college. It is a hard time for a mother.
How are you doing tonight?
I remember what that was like when it was my brother in law in that situation. It is hard to deal with when it is family
I could have done this stuff weeks ago if it had been brought to my attention! ARGH!
You are so lucky you get to see your Grandkids in activities. My grandkids live a 9 hour drive away. I miss them so much. My Grand-daughter had her dance recital last week and I would have loved to seen her. She just had her 7th birthday on Sunday. Missed that too. :(
Both my inlaws are dead now. I miss them very much.
That is a fun age for watching them play ball. They are so funny at that age.
I hope Haley never gets into beauty pageants. I was in one when I was 18 and I hated it.
Are you making a meat tray? I used to make meat, cheese, vegetable and fruit trays for a living. I can estimate it for you if that is what you are doing?
Chicken leg and thigh quarters weigh one pound each---a ten pound bag has 10 pieces in it usually. When supplying three meats---a quarter chicken is too much for one serving. After cooking cut the legs and thighs apart from each other. A ten pound bag will give you 20 servings.
Pork will shrink more than the beef---but I still cook 1/2 pound pork for each person if it a 3 meat plate. Tri Tip is more popular than chiccken or pork.
The woman at the one place said I'd need 30 lbs....that seems like an awful lot.
For most meats, figure big men would eat between 10-16 ounces, small women would eat 6-10 ounces. On average, 10oz pp, coming out to 400oz for 40 people or 25 pounds. This is figuring liberally
Making trays of meats, fruit, veggies and cheeses are so easy. They are very elegent and not too expensive if you do it yourself. Line your tray with lettuce to make it attractive. Use lettuce to separate the kinds of meats, etc. Add some tooth picks in the center and it is beautiful.
I used to sell a lot of them to to judges, lawyers and other upscale people in our area. They are great for weddings, graduations and even tailgate parties.
The wind blew down our gutters too as well as our neighbors. We have been having some fierce winds this year.
It was great to chat with all of you tonight.
Have a wonderful night!
G'nite all!
