Quit drinking ALL kinds of soda - diet is even worse than regular. Ingredients make you more hungry.
Don't eat "diet" or "light" foods as again they contain chemicals which do not satisfy but make you hungrier. Eat everything natural, including real butter, but less of it.
Apples are great to take away hunger cravings. Drink water as often as you can.
All fruits are great! - bananas are a little high in sugar, so I only eat a half at a time.
Raw vegetables of all kinds. Careful of the salad dressing, and again, forget the "light" or "diet". Make your own for better control.
Yes, WALK WALK WALK and the more you do this, the further and longer you will be able to go.
Exercise staves off hunger too.

I stopped drinking pop a year ago. That was easier than I thought. But now chocolate is a different story
I never knew that about diet and light food thanks
ok I'll try the apple idea.. i've been trying to drink more water
Ok great tip about bananas.. I eat a lot of those
Thanks so much!!!
DARK chocolate is good for you. Once you quit eating chocolate and then have a taste a couple weeks later or a month, you will note how horrible it tastes. Yep, a funny disgusting taste you had to get used to. Same as smoking. How many thought it was great tasting when they started? Food and chocolate are just as addictive.
I'm not sure if he'd let me keep that stuff out of the house or not.. he eats a lot (even though you can't tell) so he's always snacking ect
Rice cakes, with a thin coating of peanut butter and sliced bananas is also very, very filling!
Good luck!
Toasted soybeans, peanut butter (yes, really), avocado, oatmeal, just about any fruit and veggie.
I've lost weight everywhere just from walking but that isn't true for everyone.
I thought peanut butter was way too fatty? I can do oatmeal and fruits and veggies :)
I hope I lose weight.. if I keep at it. before I had kids.. I used to eat whatever and I stayed the same weight..man I miss that
It's not about how much fat, it's about what kind of fat. Peanut butter (without high fructose corn syrup) is a good fat. Avocado is good fat. Saturated fat is really bad fat.
I didn't even have kids so I can't even blame that :(
Oatmeal is great - I also add cinnamon, and ground flax seed.
Walking is great as long as you do it for at least 1/2 hour and at a good pace. Don't walk slowly. It won't really build muscle but it will burn calories. If you want to burn more calories, use small hand weights at the same time. Or do a 30 minute low aerobic work-out on the same day, or switch up your work-outs with other things. All this together should help to lose the weight.
what about ankle weights.. if i wear those will I just burn calories.. I dont want to build muscles in my legs yet
Another good fat :)
Another trick - instead of having a pb & j sandwich, I'll cut up an apple and dip it in peanut butter.
I drink Arizona green tea to boost my metabolism. I also try to eat small stuff every few hours vs large meals... like a yogurt or carrot sticks and celery sticks or a small salad. They say if you eat small stuff more often your body thinks there is lots of food so it doesn't try to store it... if you don't eat all day and then eat a lot, you body things food is scarce and will try and store it.
There are other foods that will boost your metabolism ...
grapefruit
green tea
yogurt
Almonds
coffee
turkey
apples
spinach
beans
jalapenos
brocolli
oatmeal
soy milk
cinnamon
Lastly, drinking a lot of water helps. Not only does it make you feel fuller, you flush your system and get the poisons out of your system.
Be careful with grapefruit as it interacts BADLY with many prescribed medications.
As for being too muscle-y, unless you are genetically inclined to bulk up and do a lot of sprints or a ton of walking, your thighs should get any larger.
