Aaron Kelly goes home on American Idol

Last night on American Idol, Aaron Kelly wasÂ eliminated. I wasn't quite ready yet for him to leave, but America has spoken.

The top 4 are now Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, Mike Lynche, and Casey James.

Aaron is young and has some maturing to do but he can make it one day. He has a good voice and is a total cutie pie. He sang "Fly Me to the Moon" on Tuesday night and got the lowest number of votes. Big Mike was also in the bottom two.

It came as a shock though that Kelly was voted off. It seemed like Casey James was the more likelyÂ candidateÂ to go home. Not the case this week.

American Idol is in it's ninth season this year and ratings have been slipping since people have found out that Simon Cowell won't be returning next season.

I am a little surprised that he went home. I thought it would be either him or Casey James. More likely Casey. Well only 4 left. So who will it be now that Lee is getting more popular?

Next week the top 4 will take on songs from movies and they will be mentored by Jamie Foxx.

I am surprised that Mike Lynche keeps ending up in the bottom two. I now think it will be between Crystal and Lee.

Every one is going to have an 'off' week.....some AI viewers have their 'favorite' marked and will not waver, so it is may not be 'performance-based' anymore. To become a star/idol requires more than the ability to sing!! Charisma, overall talent, 'likeability' and attractiveness all figure into that( i.e. Beyonce)......May the best ONE win...and best wishes to Aaron Kelly-a brave and young talent!!

Simon should be leaving Idol. He makes far too much money and hes an arrogant soul less ass hole i hate that guy

I'm stunned that it wasn't Casey, who gave the worst performance by far Tuesday. I'm also surprised that Crystal hasn't landed in the botton three with her somnolent performances the past few weeks.

Aaron is a talented young man, and is sure to be a Disney Channel heartthrob in the future.
