Tonight the White House Correspondents Association Dinner was at the Hilton Washington. President Obama along with many of his administration officials attended the dinner. It had the potential to be awkward tonight at the White House with Republicans and Democrats along with a jilted press corps.
Three thousand guests were on hand for WHCA dinner at the ballroom in the Hilton Washington. Everybody in attendance was in black tie and the company toasted the Barack Obama’s continued good health. At that point, President Obama took the microphone and began a roast type comedy style talk. Everybody was included in the president’s speech. Obama even spoke about Jay Leno who was up after him saying that Leno was “the only person whose ratings fell more than mine." Oh snap Mr. President!
Barack Obama even poked fun at himself reminding everyone that he is not a ‘miracle worker.’ Once the funny part of the speech was over, Barack Obama touched on the problems with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Then Jay Leno took over the mic. He let the press corps know that the evening would be as close to the White House press conference that they would get.
All in all most people decided to throw their baggage to the side for the night and simply enjoy a night of good natured fun and good food. The Vice President, Joe Biden, was the comedian of the night, and for once there was no embarrassing gaffe to tarnish the evening. In fact, Biden may actually try to take over ‘The Tonight Show’ after his run as VP is over.
Some of the guests included the Jonas brothers and Justin Bieber along with Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn and many other Hollywood celebrities. The tickets are $225 per person at the dinner. The White House Correspondents' Association was started in 1914, and each president from Calvin Coolidge has attended.
What do you think about the White House Correspondents Dinner? Do you think it is a good idea? Do you think this WHCA dinner has any political implications or is it just a night of good fun?
After the evening of fun, Barack Obama will spend tomorrow touring the Gulf of Mexico oil spill area.

What's really tragic, is America is stuck with this dictator-bowing Joker impostering as a President until at least 2012.
Fortunately, serious relief is only a few short months away.
Reid, Stupak, Specter, Pelosi, Boxer... there are few things sweeter than the smell of Liberal fear.
Obama-rats your day of reckoning is coming: 11-2-2010!!!!
