Pentagon brass has uninvited Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagon and pray on May 6, 2010. Why? According to Col. Tom Collins, Evangelist Franklin Graham's remarks in 2001 were inappropriate about Islam when he called it an evil religion. So Franklin Graham was un-invited. Now, there will be no prayer on May 6, at the Pentagon. Â
I think that the Pentagon having done this is a little hypocritical as no one in this country seems to have a problem insulting Christians.
For example, Wednesday night, Comedy Central made a decision to air an insulting comedy that satirzed all religions including Islam. After Comedy Central received not so veiled threats, Comedy Central decided not to air the portion that contained Mohammad. Now, we have not one but two times that Mohammad and Islam receive a pass on insults, but Jesus is fair game?
Is the concern here freedom of speech, freedom of religion or just plain cowardice? I think it is the right decision not to insult Islam / Mohammad but I would think that it's cowardice to continue to insult Christians, Jews, and Buddhists because those religions don't call for sawing off heads with a little knife.
We can't have it both ways. I feel
that my religion is being subject to insult, and that it's acceptable but it's only acceptable because Christians don't threaten.
I don't know the answer to this, but if this country turns from God by not having prayer, I believe God's wrath whomever you believe He may be will fall on this country. Â
I did an article in which I thought the creators of South Park were idiots for offending religions. People were angry at me. Now, where are those people being angry at the Pentagon? www.msnbc.com
