Twitter and Facebook get in the middle of a fight between Scott Baio, his wife Renee and Jezebel.com. The story is quite jumbled and twisted, but it is my understanding that Scott Baio finished his taxes and then promptly twittered “Taxes are DONE...That should feed, house & provide medical for a few lazy non working people at my expense. Have a great Monday!†Well, obviously there were a few Facebook-ers and Twitter-ers who found Scott Baio’s statement quite arrogant and demeaning.
So Jezebel.com promptly responded expressing their lack of appreciation of the Scott Baio’s twitter comments. However, Renee, Scott Baio’s wife began responding in defense of her husband. I will not post the actual statement’s of Renee Baio because they are quite graphic in nature. But basically she called them nasty names and degraded them as well. So now the Lesbians and the poor and downtrodden have been insulted!
Here is the website that you can feel free to sort through the twitter fights for yourself:http://jezebel.com/5520264/you-lesbian-shitasses-scott-baios-wife-rants-on-facebook-updates?skyline=true&s=I
But I would like to mention the obvious right now…Twitter and Facebook is a bad place to air your derogatory comments to people. As I believe, the Baio’s are now taking the Twitters and Facebook comments of Jezebel.com; however, Jezebel.com has a pretty extensive overview of the entire conversation and I am sure they will have some of their own medicine for Scott and his nice-mouthed bride, Renee.
Of course, Jezebel.com has mostly only the comments of the Baio’s and only a couple of their own comments…a little one-sided if you ask me.

Scott Baio and his supporters are free to make all the comments they want in the threads on Jezebel. However, all of the Gawker Media sites (of which Jezebel is one) use a particular type of comment system. Anyone can comment however, only certain comments appear on everyone's screen. Those comments are from starred members of the website. How does one become a stared member?
"If you don't have a star, you may be wondering how you acquire one. The answer is simple: Make an effort to provide consistently thoughtful, well-reasoned, funny contributions in the commenting threads of this site. "
Members who are not starred can still comment though, and any member who sets their preferences to "see all comments" can see their posts. If a starred member sees a post from a member without a star that they think everyone should read, they can promote that comment, so it shows up on everyone's screen.
So in summary, the Baios and any supporters who have now rushed to the site can comment, it's just that they haven't been members long enough to have their comments automatically appear. And no one has found their comments worthy of promoting, apparently.
However, now that the Baios have been made aware of the comment policy, they apparently consider it an infringement on their First Amendment rights, and have, according to Renee's Facebook page, contacted the Attorney General. I had no idea that Gawker media was a branch of the Government.
