Serenity
A soft calm breeze blows tersely
teasing new blooms into dance
cool floats upon the air lingeringly
as lilies take a brand new stance.
The sweet music of a child’s laughter
playing in the yard is a dream escape
a bouquet picked from yard weeds
becomes a precious gift not to forsake.
Birds singing each their own melody
enticing the prospect of a new mate
such a show of brightly colored feathers
a true wonderment in which to partake.
The stillness of the day is quite amazing
not a soul rushing hurriedly to and fro
taking time to chat on the front porch
feeling a sense of unity flourish and grow.
So fleeting these moments of true peace
once the work week begins its demands
tucked away in heart are these memories
savoring serenity as equability commands.

In caramel cognac ink
And produces life
