The trend continued in the first game of today’s action in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. NBC aired the 1:00 pm ET game, between #3 Buffalo and #6 Boston. It was the first of three games scheduled to take place, with #1 Washington looking to rebound against #8 Montreal and later, #3 Vancouver taking on #6 Los Angeles.
Buffalo jumped out to an early first period lead, when Tyler Myers scored just 2:55 into the game, putting the Sabres up 1-0. Matt Ellis gave Buffalo a 2-0 lead before heading into the second period.
Boston then started finding the net, scoring five of the next six goals. Michael Ryder and Zdeno Chara both scored a goal in the second to tie the game at 2-2, but again Buffalo would go to the intermission with the lead, 3-2, when Jason Pominville scored at 16:41.
The third period would belong solely to the Bruins as they scored three unanswered goals to pick up the win 5-3 and tie the series at 1-1. Ryder and Chara both scored their second goals of the game to open the third period and Mark Recchi added an empty-net goal to cap off the win.
The two teams will now travel to Boston for games three and four.

I don't have a problem if my team loses if the other team outplays them, because that will happen just don't give the game away is the way I look at it and that game today was the first time all year they lost a game when leading going into the third period, but I knew that would happen, because they were beating on that to death until they put the hex on them.
