Kentucky Gets Michael Gilchrist?
Christmas has come early for basketball coach John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats Wednesday when they received a verbal agreement from Michael Gilchrist, one of the best prospects in the country.
Gilchrist, who is a high school junior, opted for Kentucky over schools such as Villanova and Oregon. He won a state championship for St. Patrick High School (Elizabeth, NJ) as a sophomore.
He also has been named the New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year as a sophomore.

The 6 foot 7, 190-pound is project as the No. 1 prospect in the 2011 class and has been compared favorably to current NBA players Kevin Durant and Tracy McGrady based on his skill set.
