Former "Saturday Night Live" star Tina Fey, who has gone on to create and star in the hit NBC comedy, "30 Rock," returned to the SNL stage tonight as a host!
Teen pop sensation, Justin Bieber was the musical guest.
Although I thought the opening monologue was pretty weak, I thought the show overall was funny - it was great to see Tina back on stage with the SNL cast and crew. Hopefully she had fun performing at her old gig! She looked great. This was her second time hosting the show.
Tina Fey is a beloved figure in the comedy community, especially to women in comedy. Most of the comediennes I know respect and admire Tina, not only because she is fantastically talented, funny and innovative, but because she has carved out a career for herself in an industry where many women play by other people's rules, or wait for opportunities to come along. In an industry that is often dominated by men, Tina has the career that many female comedians dream of - an SNL credit, her own sitcom, and the chance to make movies with brilliant comedians.
Justin Bieber was...himself. I personally don't care for his whole deal, but that's probably because I'm not 16.
By the way, here is the much-discussed People magazine cover featuring Justin Bieber. He has been quoted as saying that he doesn't like the cover.
