So, CBS has been teasing us all week with the "drop your expectations" teaser. Want to know who was actually dropped tonight?
First, I'll tell you that the merge doesn't happen. The villains lose AGAIN. Who got voted off?
The Immunity Challenge
When the loser villains return to camp, Jerry is upset. She's mad that Boston rob was voted out (even though she cast the deciding vote) and she blames Courtney and Sandra for losing the reward and increasing the likelihood that the team will lose the immunity challenge. Sandra doesn't take too kindly to this. She decides to put a bug in Russell's ear that Coach is gunning for him. (Oh, please let it work. Sandra says she doesn't belong on the villains team and I must agree with her.)
When the teams arrive for the immunity challenge, they find one of those obstacle courses. Teammates will be belted together in pairs to go up, over and under the obstacles to bring back a flag. Everybody is muddy. Poor Sandra gets stuck in the mud. It's really not much of a contest. Coach barely beats Rupert, but the other two heroes pairs are back with their flags before the other teams even get to their flag.
Back at camp, Coach channels the dragon slayer and then decides to vote out one of the weaker links instead of Russell
The reward challenge:
The merge comes up when they get tree mail that refers to "your best meal yet." They're very excited about the merge because they're not happy with each other. And they're starving. The villains are so excited about the merge, that they tear their camp apart and take it to the reward challenge, figuring that they'll have all of their tools and everything with them in case they don't come back.
At the reward challenge, Jeff announces that there is no merge. The villains moan. There is, however, a table full of pizza awaiting the winner. (don't know if I would get excited about pizza after 18 days of eating) And the task is simple bowling. Lots of gutter balls. It comes down to a classic show-down between Colby and Russell. The first balls thrown by each land in the gutter. Then, Russell knocks down five. Colby only knocks over 1, keeping the villians in the game. Next round pits Coach against Amanda. First bowl each knocks over five. Then, Amanda knocks down two more winning the challenge for the Heros. Jeff notes that the villains will be going home to put their camp back together.
When the show opens:
After J.T. finds the immunity idol, he expects to be, well, the hero of the heroes. It doesn't quite work out that way. Candace starts pulling Amanda to vote J.T. out, saying he is the "golden child" of the Tribe.
The show opens with Russell gloating a little too much for my taste. Coach is very upset, especially with Jerry. Coach is pretty much giving up on his team and counting on the merge.
